Serbia Announces Its Firm Stance to Join BRICS

Serbia is displaying eager curiosity in becoming a member of the BRICS alliance through the 2025 summit in July. The Prime Minister of Serbia Duro Macut introduced that his administration is advocating for an enlargement to be part of the bloc. The seventeenth summit is scheduled to be held on July 6 and seven in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro.

“We persistently advocate the necessity to deepen cooperation with our conventional companions and associates. The BRICS international locations are an important gamers on the world stage, and the event of sturdy, mutually helpful relations with them is of a strategic curiosity to us,” stated Serbia’s PM.

Serbia Desires To Be a A part of BRICS Growth

BRICS introduced a brand new ‘Companion International locations’ in 2024 including 13 nations into the fold however Serbia was not part of it. The international locations embrace Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Whereas 23 international locations have formally submitted their functions, 22 nations have informally expressed to enter the bloc. Serbia “continues its path in the direction of membership within the European Union,” he stated to a international media outlet.
